According to a recent Memolink survey, most members have supported the cause of breast cancer awareness in some way within the past 12 months. While just 5% of female Memolink members have ever been diagnosed with breast cancer, 67% of both genders say they have made at least one contribution to the fight against breast cancer in the past twelve months. The top three ways that Memolink members contribute to the cause, all included the donation of funds in one form or another:

• Purchasing a pink product with proceeds going to breast cancer research
• Donating money directly to a non-profit organization
• Purchasing a pink ribbon

Less common ways of contributing included walks and runs, as well as contacting an elected official about relevant legislative issues. Other results from the survey indicated that:

• While walks and runs are among the most well-known means of raising awareness, just 6% of members had participated in one.
• 43% of members have had a family member or close friend that has battled breast cancer.
• When asked about their likelihood of ever developing breast cancer, 14% of women considered it somewhat likely, while 46% said it was either somewhat, or very unlikely to happen to them.
