It feels like summer here in Denver, Colorado, and we know what that means! It’s wedding season!
Recently, I was asked to be a bridesmaid in an upcoming wedding. While being asked to be a bridesmaid is always an honor, there can be pressure to find the perfect dress for your style and body shape. Traditionally, the bride chooses the dress for her maids to wear but lately, that custom has changed. A new and fun trend that I have been seeing a lot is the same color, different style option. Let’s say the bride wants the bridesmaids to wear black dresses. All of the maids can pick any dress they would like in black. To make it easier with more conformity, sometimes the bride will pick a specific designer or fabric she likes. Allowing each maid to choose the most flattering style for them creates a happy and beautiful wedding party. Here are some great examples of the same color & fabric but different styles, taken from Nordstrom, using their Donna Morgan line:
Another option guaranteed to make your bridesmaids happy is a convertible dress, such as the ‘Annabelle’ Convertible Tulle Column Dress also from Nordstrom. This particular dress can be worn 15 different ways, including strapless, halter, one shoulder, or with sleeves.
